CHASS Connect: About the Program
The national award winning CHASS Connect is a stimulating program exclusively for first year students in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The program invites students to engage in effective education practices increasing their chances of success at the university. Diversity, academic success, and social enrichment are emphasized. Students are enrolled in a year-long sequence consisting of high levels of interaction with faculty and graduate teaching assistants, focused and personalized advising, and support from peer educators throughout their first year. Open to students of all majors, except for Pre-Business majors.
CHASS Connect allows students to:
- Explore a theme through different disciplinary lens.
- Understand how different disciplines pose questions.
- Develop critical thinking skills to synthesize and integrate information and ideas.
