CHASS Transfers F1RST- Student Leadership Opportunities 

Volunteer your time as a Transfer Fem/Mentor or Transfer Ambassador
  • Transfer Fem/Mentors are CHASS students who are acclimated to the UCR campus and know what the transition to UCR looks and feels like. 
  • Transfer Ambassadors are students who have participated in the Transfer Mentorship Program and are experts on campus resources and campus life.
  • Both are passionate about helping other transfer students and are interested in taking on a volunteer leadership role.
Program Requirements and Responsibilities:

As a Transfer Fem/Mentor you will be expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Be a transfer student in CHASS that is acclimated to the UCR campus (has completed at least one quarter at UCR)
  • Attend mandatory training during Week 0 of Fall Quarter
  • Meet with assigned Ambassador 3 times per quarter
  • Meet with your assigned Mentee(s)/Femtee(s) at least once every two weeks during the quarter (total of 4 meetings)
    • Take record of your 1-on-1 meetings (Dates, times, locations, general topics discussed at the meetings) A Google Form link will be provided.
    • Provide guidance for mentee(s)/femtee(s) to complete their Virtual Bucketlist
  • Attend at least 1 CHASS Transfers F1RST Workshop per quarter
  • Attend at least 1 Professional Development Workshop per quarter
  • Maintain documentation of Transfer Mentorship Program interactions and requirements via the platforms provided by the program
  • Provide feedback and consistent communication to CHASS Transfers F1RST team and assigned ambassador.
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA

As a Transfer Ambassador you will be expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Be a transfer student in CHASS that has previous experience with Transfers F1RST through participation in the Transfer Mentorship Program
  • Attend mandatory training during Week 0 of Fall Quarter
  • Meet with the Program Coordinator at least 2 times per quarter
  • Meet with assigned Mentor(s)/Femtor(s)  3 times during the quarter
    • Take record of 1-on-1 meetings (Dates, times, locations, general topics discussed at the meetings) A Google Form link will be provided.
  • Attend at least 1 CHASS Transfers F1RST Workshop per quarter
  • Attend at least 1 Professional Development Workshop per quarter
  • Complete Ambassador Interest Assignment throughout the quarter
  • Maintain documentation of Transfer Mentorship Program interactions and requirements via the platforms provided by the program
  • Provide feedback and consistent communication to Transfers F1RST Team
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA

Student Leaders will have the opportunity to earn a scholarship at the end of the quarter if all requirements for the role are met. Ambassadors can potentially earn a $250 scholarship and Fem/Mentors can potentially earn a $100 scholarship.

* To earn the scholarship you must be a registered student who is enrolled at least part-time (6-8 units) and cannot be withdrawn from the quarter that you participated in the program.

Transfers F1RST Student Leadership Recruitment will take place in Spring & Summer 2022
